Both Resident Evil 2 remake and Resident Evil 7 are lurking in the future of some Mac and iOS device owners. Resident Evil 7 is on the way on July 2, 2024. Meanwhile, the remake is in development for the new platforms. 

Resident Evil 7 pre-orders just opened. People can get it with Chris Redfield’s Not a Hero DLC. The Gold Edition update adds End of Zoe, Banned Footage 1-2, Madhouse difficulty, and extras like a 5-Coin Set and Survival Pack. A free trial is going to be available, and there is cross-compatibility across all Mac and iOS devices. It also s Bluetooth controllers and an auto-fire option. 

As for Resident Evil 2 remake, only two element of it are confirmed just yet. It will also the free to check and gameplay. Universal purchase and cross-compatibility will also appear.

Capcom and Tokyo Marui announced the re-release of the Albert Wesker Model 01P airsoft gun replica from Resident Evil 7. The airsoft gun replica is now available from Tokyo Marui for 25,080 yen (or approximately $173) and Amazon Japan (19,475 yen ~$134), which offers overseas shipping. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

The airsoft gun replica includes the model’s name, Albert. W. Model 01P on the right side of the chamber, and the Umbrella Corporation name on the left side. The handle of the gun also includes the Blue Umbrella logo on it.

In Resident Evil 7, Chris Redfield uses the gun as part of his standard equipment when collaborating with Blue Umbrella on the cleanup of the Baker House Incident. The gun is a modification based on the Samurai Edge pistol used by S.T.A.R.S. of the Raccoon City Police Department.

Tokyo Marui originally released the Albert W Model 01P replica in August 2018. Additionally, the company released a replica of Leon’s gun from the Resident Evil 4 remake in February 2023. It will be an end of an era for PlayStation 5 owners who also subscribe to PlayStation Plus. To coincide with the console's launch in November 2020, Sony offered a special selection of games. The PlayStation Plus Collection games involved free access to 20 PS4 games for new PS5 owners. Now on May 9, 2023, that offer will end. Sony confirmed it on the PlayStation Blog.

Here's how the PlayStation Plus Collection PS4 games worked for PS5 owners. If someone subscribed to the service and owned a PS5, they could get access to 20 games. These would be permanently accessible after being claimed and could be played at any time after being ed. These consisted of 10 first-party and 10 third-party titles.

Capcom and Dynamo Amusement will release a Resident Evil 7 VR attraction. Titled "Biohazard Walkthrough the Fear," attendees will be transported to the Baker Ranch, where they will explore the main house entirely in VR. A total of 4 attendees can experience the attraction at a time. However, people can pair up and go through the attraction in groups of 2 as well. The Resident Evil 7 Walkthrough the Fear VR attraction will take roughly 20 minutes to complete. It will be held at Tokyo Dome City Attractions in Tokyo, Japan, and will run from April 29, 2022, to June 26, 2022. Tickets will cost 2,800 yen ($21).  [Thanks, Gamer!]

The attraction will be a "free roam" event. This means that attendees will be able to freely walk around the designated area and explore the main house. The scenario of the VR event focuses on players escaping the main house. They have been kidnapped by Jack Baker and must cooperate to see themselves leave the place alive. Players will be given access to "guns" to fend off monsters and Jack. However, ammunition will be limited.

Resident Evil 7 is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime in 2022.

Those hoping to upgrade their copies of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions will be able to keep their save files. This means that players will not need to redo hours of progress when making the switch. DLC for Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition will also carry over.

On March 2, 2022, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will appear on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime in 2022. There is no release date as of yet. These newer versions will have enhanced visuals. If you have these games on their original consoles, you can get them on the new generation for free. Additionally, patches will come out for PC players so that they can experience the same upgrades.

As of February 2022, Capcom announced that the Resident Evil 3 remake had sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Around the same time, Capcom revealed that the Resident Evil 2 remake had sold over 9.3 million units. In October 2021, Resident Evil 7 had sold over 10 million units worldwide. Resident Evil 7 was the first entry to use a first-person camera, as well as introduce a playable character und with any government body.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will arrive on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later in 2022 with save files and DLC transferable. They are all available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Resident Evil 7 sales have officially sured 10 million units worldwide. In May 2021, it was announced that Resident Evil 7 sales had sured 9 million units worldwide. As it stands, Resident Evil 7 retains its spot as the best selling Resident Evil title within the franchise to date. It also remains at second place on Capcom's Platinum Titles list.

Currently, Monster Hunter: World still occupies first place on Capcom's Platinum Titles list. The title has sold 17.3 million units as of June 30, 2021. Only time will tell if Resident Evil 7 will slowly creep up the list to take first place. The Resident Evil 2 remake sits just behind Resident Evil 7 with 8.6 million units sold.

The most recent entry in the series, Resident Evil Village, has sold 4.5 million units worldwide as of July 2021. The title has sold roughly the same amount during its initial release as Resident Evil 7. However, recent updates regarding the sales of Resident Evil Village have not been shared.

Google and Capcom announced Resident Evil games, like Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, are heading to Google Stadia. The former will appear first on April 1, 2021, and it will also be a Stadia Pro game that month. The latter will appear on May 7, 2021, the same day the game will appear on every platform. Also, people who pre-order Resident Evil Village can get a free Stadia Premiere Edition.

With Resident Evil 7, people will be able to get the Gold Edition on Stadia. This gives you the base game, Banned Footage Vol.1, Banned Footage Vol.2, End of Zoe, and Not a Hero. All Stadia Pro subscribers will also have free access to it the day it launches, provided they maintain their subscription.

As for Resident Evil Village and its free Premiere Edition offer, people need to buy the $59.99 game through Google before its supplies run out. If you placed an order before May 21, 2021, you could qualify. Google will email people who do with a code needed to get their controller and Chromecast Ultra.

The PlayStation Plus November 2020 announcement involved two parts. The first had to do with what games people will play next month. But for the second part, Sony confirmed the PS5 PlayStation Plus Collection games subscribers will have access to when the new console launches. It turns out, the final launch list has 20 titles in it.

This means the list has increased by two since the selection of PS4 games people will have available on the PS5 were announced back in September 2020. The two newly added titles are Call of Duty: Black Ops III—Zombies Chronicles Edition and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

In addition, this update clarified that people will be getting access to the Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition. However, you’ll also only have standard Persona 5 and not Persona 5 Royal, the updated version with an additional semester and lots of new story content.

Time for the Final Fantasy XV PlayStation Now debut! As part of the September 2020 lineup, the Square Enix RPG is a part of the on-demand streaming catalog. Subscribers won’t have access to it forever, though. The PlayStation Blog pointed out it will only be available through the service until March 1, 2021. But, on the plus side, it will be available in North America, Europe, and Japan until that day.

Final Fantasy XV is only one of two major games added to the service. Resident Evil VII will be available for people to play too. Its time on PlayStation Now is even more limited though, as it will only be available in all regions until November 30, 2020. The other two inclusions are Observation and WWE 2K19, both of which don’t have expiration dates.

While the Final Fantasy XV PlayStation Now debut is exciting, the game has already appeared via one of these subscription streaming services before. Earlier in 2020, it showed up on Xbox Game . (Other Final Fantasy games, such as Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XI, have followed it there since.)

Both Final Fantasy XV and Resident Evil 7 are on PlayStation Now for a limited time. A one month subscription is $9.99, while it is $24.99 for three months and $59.99 for a year.

Resident Evil 7 will be added to the Xbox Game service for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs on September 3, 2020. This marks the 2017 first person survival horror title's debut on the service.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, the Xbox Game is a subscription-based service that allows consumers to access a wide variety of games. Every month, more games are rotated through the Game , giving consumers a large range of titles to choose from. However, the console and PC libraries can differ and an Ultimate subscription is required to have access to both.

This is the perfect opportunity to play Resident Evil 7 at a low and affordable cost, if you haven't already. Resident Evil 7 is the seventh mainline entry to the Resident Evil series and stars new series protagonist Ethan Winters. Ethan will be coming back for Resident Evil VIII: Village, so this gives fans the opportunity to catch up. And for new fans of the series who may have jumped in at Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, this is another great way to continue.

Resident Evil 7 recently jumped to the second spot on Capcom's Platinum Titles list. After selling a total of 7.9 million units worldwide so far, Resident Evil 7 dethroned Resident Evil 5.

Resident Evil 7 usurped both Resident Evil 5 and 6’s spots on the Capcom Platinum Titles list. The official page has been updated with data taken as of June 30, 2020, and it has shot up to second place. This is due to its sales hitting the 7.9 million mark worldwide.

However, Monster Hunter World still has nothing to fear. The game is in first with 16.1 million units sold. That figure has gone up a little since its May 2020 tally. Back then, it was at 15.7 million units sold so far.

The only other major movement in positions came from Resident Evil 3. The remake, which was released in April 2020, ended up taking 25th place on the list with 2.7 million copies sold.

To refresh and keep everyone up with the current situation, here are the top 25 games in the Capcom Platinum Titles list so far. All the sales figures are, as mentioned earlier, taking into numbers as of June 30, 2020.

There's a lot of rumor-mongering going on lately, and it makes sense. After all, a lot of plans have been thrown out of whack due to the current global situation. This next rumor is another one that seems to be corroborated by multiple reputable sources. The rumor of today is about what's next for Resident Evil, which makes since considering Capcom is on such a tear lately. What makes this rumor more interesting than just "Resident Evil 8 exists," are a number of fascinating background details on how Capcom arrived at the project it did.

According to this rumor, which came from the familiar internet tipster Dusk Golem, and "verified" by Video Game Chronicle, this Resident Evil 8 wasn't supposed to be Resident Evil 8. Instead, it was originally in production as Resident Evil Revelations 3, a sequel to Capcom's scrappy, but reasonably well-liked, spinoff series. Another project was in the works as Resident Evil 8, but the time gap between core entries would be too long, and the Revelations 3 project was testing more positively internally anyway. So some adjustments were made, and now it's the next core title. [Thanks, VGC!]

While things have been changed around to fit the (ittedly dubious) core Resident Evil timeline, Resident Evil 8 will reportedly be even more of a departure than 7 was. This includes parts of the game referred to as "insanity segments," as well as occult and hallucination elements along with new fantasy-like enemies (werewolves being a provided example).

One of the details changed by this alleged shift includes changing the story to star Ethan Winters, the protagonist introduced in Resident Evil 7. For some additional fun, you can draw parallels between this rumor, and the story behind Resident Evil 3 (which just saw a coincidental remake released this month). RE 3 also started as a spinoff, until the actual Resident Evil 3 idea was cancelled, and the next game (Code Veronica) was too far off for Capcom's tastes. So Jill Valentine was added to the story, and thus became the third core game.

This week has two big releases in store, with the first being God Eater 3, Bandai Namco’s latest action game with a story that takes place after a time skip from the previous games in the series. Human life has broken down even more thanks to the appearance of the Ashlands and the Ash Aragami, and this time you play as an Adaptive God Eater that have adapted to survive in those arid lands.

Project Judge, now revealed to be named Judgment in English, is also coming out in Japan. The game stars Kimura Takuya as private detective Takayuki Yagami, who in the past was an attorney but left after a client proven innocent was apprehended for a different murder. Now, Yagami is about to embark on another case that will lead him towards a swirling conspiracy larger than he’d ever imagine.

In of smaller releases, Peach Ball: Senran Kagura is a pinball spinoff of the Senran Kagura series coming to Nintendo Switch. The next Jake Hunter game, Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz, also comes out for PS4, Switch, and PC.

Capcom announced that Resident Evil 7 is headed to Nintendo Switch in the form of Resident Evil 7: biohazard Cloud Version, and it’ll release in Japan in just a few days.

The above is a look at the Japanese announcement trailer for Resident Evil 7: biohazard Cloud Version. Similar to Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud, the game runs off a cloud service and requires Internet connectivity to play. While a demo will allow players to check it out for 15 minutes, you’ll need to pay 2,000 yen for 180 days of play time.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard Cloud Version launches in Japan on May 24, 2018. So far the game has only been announced in Japan.
