Capcom has confirmed the release date for Elena, the fourth and last Year 2 DLC character for Street Fighter 6. Players of the fighting game will be able to play as her on June 5, 2025.

Elena made her debut in the 1997 entry Street Fighter III: New Generation. The Kenyan Capoeira master also subsequently appeared in Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter x Tekken. However, she was completely missing in Street Fighter V's playable roster. This means she will make her return after being absent for a while.

The second year of Street Fighter 6's post-release content additions will conclude with Elena. Capcom started the year by releasing the resurrected dictator M. Bison in June 2024. It then brought in SNK guest characters Terry Bogard in September 2024 and Mai Shiranui in February 2025.

Elena will be available as a DLC character in the console and PC releases of Street Fighter 6 on June 5, 2025. Capcom will also release Street Fighter 6: Years 1-2 Fighters Edition, which includes all eight DLC characters known so far, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on the same day.

CyberStep has released a new visual novel titled Doki Doki Maid-Bu in Japanese and Shirogane Maid Club in English. The new title boasts of around 40 languages. However, the company has also acknowledged the use of AI for the visual novel's translations and illustrations.

The new visual novel is available on Nintendo Switch and the PC gaming platform Steam. The Switch version lists pretty much all languages Nintendo has formally ed; in addition to the common Western European (EFIGS) and Eastern Asian (CJK) languages, it also s Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian.

However, it is the Steam release that garners more attention, as it lists a whopping 40 languages that include the likes of Igbo, Xhosa, and Maori. There is an obvious catch to this, though. CyberStep's Japanese press release revealed that this game is part of the PandaShojo brand, which intends to make Japanese visual novels accessible to people worldwide by using automatic machine translations for over 50 languages.

CyberStep is originally known for releasing online titles like Onigiri and CosmicBreak Universal. However, in more recent years, the company has been more frequently releasing visual novels on Steam. Earlier in November 2024, it released Nurse Call and Me and Gamer Girl with for 15 languages.

Translations are not the only activities CyberStep used machine programs to release these visual novels. The Steam pages also have an AI-generated content disclosure, where the company acknowledged that it used AI to produce some of the illustrations in the visual novels.

Shirogane Maid Club is now available worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Bandai Namco announced that anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury will be streaming on YouTube via the GundamInfo channel. The show is currently visible there in some countries, but from December 31, 2022, more streaming regions will be added officially.

According to the Gundam.Info official website, the additional streaming regions for Gundam: The Witch from Mercury are:

• North America
• Latin America
• Europe
• Africa
• The Middle East
• Southeast Asia
• Oceania

Residents in some countries in the announced regions, like Southeast Asia, can already watch The Witch from Mercury on Gundam.Info, so the announcement likely heralds further expansion.

Additionally, the announcement details a rollout schedule for each episode. The first episode opens on December 31, 2022, and the final episode of the season will go live on GundamInfo in the target regions by April 8, 2023.

In Japan and on simulcasted streaming services like Crunchyroll and Netflix, Gundam the Witch from Mercury is already up to episode 10. Scheduling conflicts in Japan delayed the debut of episode 11, which will go up on December 25, 2022. Similarly, New Year's programming pushed the final episode to January 8, 2023.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is based on a new original setting, where workers on Earth and the planetary colonies are exploited by "Spacians" running corporate interests from space habitats. At the exclusive Asticassia School of Technology, students representing corporations settle issues with mobile suit duels. New student Suletta Mercury s the school hoping to making friends, but encounters the fiery Miorine. Miorine is the scion of the Benerit Group, the mega-conglomerate that runs much of the solar system, whose head (and Miorine's father) violently outlawed "Gundam" technology years ago. And as it turns out, Suletta's mobile suit Aerial is one such Gundam.

The PlayStation 5 is about to get more expensive, if you live in the right (or wrong) region. Sony is beginning a PS5 price hike that will affect sticker prices for the PlayStation 5 in various regions across the world, particularly outside the United States.

The PS5 price hike was announced on August 25, 2022 by Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan via a blog post. In the post, Ryan blamed "challenging economic conditions" brought about by inflation, and "adverse currency trends". In light of the pressure, Ryan said that SIE "made the difficult decision" to increase the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PS5. The price hike will occur in "select markets" throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa (or EMEA), the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) and Latin America (LATAM). Even Sony's home in Japan, and Canada, a close neighbor to the U.S., will be affected.

Ryan said that the price increase was a necessity in the current global economic environment, Sony's top priority is "improving the PS5 supply situation". Even now the PS5 is difficult to acquire in many markets, with lines and lotteries forming and selling out extremely quickly.

Here's the list of suggested points for the PS5 price hike. All prices take effect immediately except for in Japan, where they take effect on September 15, 2022. The post also cautioned that other markets not listed below may see their own price increases. Interested buyers should check with their local retailers.

Overall the percentage price increases range between 3% and 10% from the previous RRP, for the standard, disc-equipped PS5 model. The PS5 Digital Edition, a much less popular model, will see a higher percentage bump.

A free-to-play open-world RPG for Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar: Generations, will appear on mobile devices in the near future. Its soft launch will be sometime in August 2022. Rather than you making your own character and exploring the world of Avatar, the game will allow players to relive the original show. [Thanks, IGN!]

Aside from Aang’s story, it seems that future content will include the stories of other Avatars. So far, it seems that players will be able to experience the journeys of Korra, Roku, and Kyoshi. Avatar: Generations will be a squad-based adventure game. You can also recruit characters to customize your party. Since the game is F2P, this recruitment function may be a gacha.

Those in Canada, Denmark, South Africa, and Sweden will be eligible for the soft launch. It will be available in other regions later on. According to Will Moore, the CEO of Navigator Games, the team wanted to create a game that expanded on the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe in an authentic way. It also endeavored to create a game that players of all skill levels and exposure could access.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an anime-influenced television series that ran from 2005 to 2008. It follows the story of Aang, who is the eponymous last Airbender in a world where some people can manipulate one of the four elements. As the Avatar, he must help bring harmony to the world. In Aang’s case, that means defeating the Fire Lord. Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel The Legend of Korra are on streaming services such as Netflix.

Avatar: Generations will go live sometime in the future for mobile devices, with its soft launch later this month in certain territories.

Square Enix left out the Reaper and Sage, Final Fantasy XIV's newest jobs, from its 2021 weapon design contest due to the timing of Endwalker's release. The company's correcting that oversight, now that it's launched the FFXIV Reaper and Sage Weapon Design Contest. The announcement went out over Twitter, with details in a blog post on the Lodestone community site.

According to the details page, the FFXIV Reaper and Sage Weapon Design Contest follows the same structure as previous contests. Square Enix is inviting participants from the United States, Canada, and 126 other countries to submit visual concepts for a weapon design. The contest limits weapons to those used by the Sage and Reaper jobs, since they were excluded from the previous contest. The development team will then select winning designs to appear in Final Fantasy XIV. Winners and runners-up will receive various prizes, including exclusive and cosmetics.

The FFXIV Reaper and Sage Weapon Design Contest runs from May 12, 2022 through June 12, 2022. The team will select winners in late December 2022 and notify them in January 2023.

Participating entries need to use a template provided by the team, which is able from the page. Participants can use any digital or analog illustration or painting methods for their entry. That said, all submissions need to be in .jpg or .png format, be under 3 MB in size, and 1920x1080 or larger.

One twist for the Reaper and Sage Weapon Design Contest, though, is that the Sage weapon actually has three different templates. This is because Sage weapons in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker have three different visual archetypes. They can come in the form of Wings, Pendulums or Milpreves. The three differ mainly in how they animate when drawn or sheathed by a player. Wings extend off the player's shoulders, Pendulums stack in vertical rows on the player's back, and Milpreves assemble into a quadrant or cruciform whole.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PS4, PS5, and PC. The weapon design contest runs until June 12, 2022. Reaper and Sage tools can be found at Icy Veins.

Anime streaming service Crunchyroll has finalized its Spring 2022 streaming lineup with an additional batch of new and continuing simulcasts. The news was conveyed via a "final update" to its initial lineup announcement post. Now all of the planned shows for the season, which officially began in late March 2022, are on the board, with premieres ongoing through the month of April 2022.

Here are the new premieres added to the Crunchyroll Spring 2022 streaming lineup:

• Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story- - An over-the-top sports series described as "a story of youth." It stars Eve and Aoi, two young women golfers from completely different backgrounds with opposing play styles. Despite their differences, they'll upend the world of golf.
• Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness - Young man Irino returns to his Kyoto hometown eager to take over the family sweets shop, but is dumbfounded when he's asked to instead become the guardian of a young girl named Itsuka, who everyone claims is the "true" successor to the store.
• The Girl From The Other Side - A feature-length adaptation of the manga by Nagabe produced by Attack on Titan's Wit Studio, the story focuses on a girl coexisting with a mysterious demonic guardian.
• Shin Ikki Tousen - A new entry in the long-running battle anime (also known as Battle Vixens), featuring female fighters loosely modeled after personalities from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story.
• Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost - A comedy series starring Fushiara, a corporate drone, and a little ghost who wants nothing more than to get Fushiara to go home so she doesn't die of overwork.
• RPG Real Estate - 15 years after the defeat of the Demon King, the world has become peaceful. Kotone, a newly graduated mage, begins work at a fantasy real estate agency to help clients, ranging from necromancers to pegasus-breeders, find new homes.
• Heroines Run The Show - Produced in collaboration with HoneyWorks, a Vocaloid creator group, the show follows Hiyori, a high-schooler who becomes a manager-in-training for the school idol unit LIPxLIP.

In addition to the new titles, continuations of AMAIM: Warrior at the Borderline, Kagi-Nado, Kingdom, and The Ancient Magus' Bride were added to the broadcast slate.

Other shows from the Crunchyroll Spring 2022 lineup such as Mahjong Soul Pon, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2, and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Ultra Romantic were covered in the last round of announcements.
